Become a Mentor
Deadline: February 6, 11:59 PM
MENTORS
L.O.V.E. supports and empowers young women to strive both in school and life through positive role modeling.
Our mentors are the backbone of our organization. We recruit female college students to support, guide, and be role models to the young women we serve. Our mentors understand and relate to our mentees because they have gone through similar experiences. In turn, our mentees can see themselves reflected in their mentors.
Mentors Role:
Take the lead in supporting a young woman through an ongoing relationship
Serve as a positive role model
Help set goals and work towards accomplishing them
Build self-esteem and motivation
Be a willing listener, encouraging, supporting, patient, flexible, and respectful of individual differences
Strive for mutual respect

What motivated you to become a mentor with L.O.V.E.?
Honestly, I'm very big on mental health, especially in my community and I think exposing our community to mental health and getting rid of the stigmas and barriers are very important, especially since it holds so many of us back because it makes us feel alienated from ourselves compared to other demographics and how they view mental health. So I just want to work with kids. And basically, just uplift themselves, make them know that, mental health isn't a bad thing. Or just have, somebody there that's, older, who's been there, someone to lean on if they ever need to.
What advice would you give to the next generation of female leaders?
What do you love about L.O.V.E.?

What motivated you to become a mentor with L.O.V.E.?
So, honestly, the cause, just the idea of being able to speak to younger women about maybe some more taboo topics and things that don't get enough attention, like mental health, reproductive health, sexual wellness, all the things that are important to me, and I wish I would have had this kind of resource when I was that age. I'm proud to be able to give it to younger people and kind of spread the love of love everywhere.
What are your goals for the future, both personally and professionally?
