School-Based Program
L.O.V.E. partners with middle schools and high schools across NYC during the academic school year. The L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program is implemented in Health studies or an aligned class for girls. During the school year, mentors and mentees participate in weekly, hour-long sessions guided by a curriculum consisting of mental health, reproductive health, and college and career readiness. Through a series of structured mentoring and group activities that concentrate on personal empowerment, mentees boost their academic performance and gain access to college and career opportunities. L.O.V.E. serves
as a safe space where young women acknowledge they are capable of achieving their dreams.

MENTEES
The L.O.V.E. Mentoring Program supports female-identifying public school students from low-income communities in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, and the Bronx.
L.O.V.E. serves as a preventative and motivational program that emboldens young women to believe in themselves and in their self-worth. Our classes are tailored to provide social and emotional learning support through relatable role-modeling. By creating an environment focused on support and empowerment, our goal is to ensure young women can accomplish both their educational and professional goals.

MENTORS
L.O.V.E. recruits volunteer female university students to support, guide, and be role models to young Latinas during their high school years.
Most mentors are Latina or women of diverse backgrounds and a majority are first-generation college students from NYC, similar to our mentees. L.O.V.E. mentors understand and relate to our mentees because they have gone through similar experiences. In turn, our mentees can see themselves reflected in their mentors.
